Description

OpenRAMAN Base Spectrometer

The base spectrometer is the perfect starting point in Raman spectroscopy. It features a 4.5 mW laser which can readily be used by students in the context of a classroom experiment. It is sufficient to identify most non-halogenated solvents and powders although its resolution is somewhat limited compared to the upgraded spectrometers.

Want to move further? The OpenRAMAN base spectrometer can easily be upgraded with more accurate or powerful laser, lower noise cameras or enhanced filter sets.

Standard Liquid Cuvette

The standard liquid cuvette is our reference historical cuvette, designed for clear liquids like organic solvents (acetone, isopropanol, ethanol etc.). It uses low-cost test-tubes that can be re-used as long as chemicals are not adsorbed onto the tube.

Because the standard liquid cuvette focuses light at the center of the vial, it is insensitive to Raman glass-peak contamination which typically occurs near 3000 cm-1.

Maintenance Kit

The maintenance kit contains all required accessories to fully re-assemble and maintain an OpenRAMAN base spectrometer. The kit contains a neon spectral lamp for the re-calibration of the spectrometer.

The maintenance kit does not contain consummible parts and can be used to align as many base spectrometer as required.
